Event - Fanime 2010

This blog posting is about Fanime oh so long ago, back in 2010 when the Lolita special event came to town.

Heart-o!
Ah Fanime 2010, this was the first time I seriously started taking pictures at it.  I wanted to get as many pictures as I could in my new get-up that I bought from Angelic Pretty.  I was so pink!

Musical Guests:

The musical guests this year were Momoi Halko, LM.C and FLOW.  I was able to go to one of Momoi's shows.  She was super adorable!  Two of my friends were heads of Opening Ceromonies that year and were able to talk with her and she said that she had made the school uniform that she was wearing on the stage at Opening.
LM.C was another neat band to watch.  I did not really know anything about them before their concert but it was neat seeing fans from Japan coming over to the States just to see their concert.  Their dancing bunny headed guy (much like that of Daft Punk) was awesome and the "follow along" songs were uber fun!
I always look forward to the new and amazing sounds coming out of Japan to be showcased at Fanime.  I get introduced to bands that I didn't really have any idea about before, and I like it.

Oneesan Inc's Gothic and Lolita: Fantaisies dans le Monde des Reves:

This was the Lolita add-on that they had during Fanime that year.  The short of it was that it was kind of fun and an interesting experience but I'd never do it again for that price..  I'll enplane about each part and the good and bad of each.

Dealer's Hall:
The Good: There was a fancy dealers hall with brand Lolita items in it.  The Angelic Pretty booth even had a sales rack!  That is where I got my first AP dress.  Also, the designers were there during the second set of sales to be behind the "counter" so you could buy right from them! Maki sold me on a small stuffed rabbit--  she talked with a cute voice as if the bunny was talking "My name is Shiro."  I was a big dork and melted and said "Hi!" back then had to buy him--  Thus I has a little sugar bunneh.  He was the second most expensive stuffed toy I have ever purchased that wasn't used another way (examples: backpack, purse).  I have brought him many a place since that day that I bought him, however I do not bring him out as much as I'd like to.  I love bunnies and love making coordinates with them in mind.
The Bad: You could pay an extream amount of money in order to get in early to buy things.  The one thing that I was dying to get, and I knew they had it inside was gone, both times, before I was able to go in.  Also, the times for entry were extreamly off.

Ponies!!!!!
Pre Tea:
So I arrived a little bit early and saw a few Lolitas there as they started to filter in.  Didn't really know anyone so I was the pinkest wallflower you'd ever know.  Everyone was all hugs and kisses to each other and the sea of fluff, bows, ribbons and ruffles was wonderfully overwhelming.
Next we were told that we needed to put our names down for tables.  I'd been talking to a few girls and I asked if it'd be OK if I sat at their table.  They were more then happy to.  One of them had borrowed the dresses she was wearing and they were new to the fashion like I was and super nice.
At this point we were all gathered up and sent outside to be photographed by a person from the Gothic & Lolita Bible!  We filled out a piece of paper about what we were wearing and what brands we liked, our name, etc.  I was hoping that since I was totally pink I would get into the bible but I didn't.  Oh well, there were some really nice coordinates there so it didn't surprise me.
We were later told to all line up in order of our tables and with our fellow table peoples.  We stood in our table lines for a long long time.  Apparently they were having problems with the sound system.. Thus we went in about an hour and half after we were sapposed to.
After we all got in we were forced to watch a Miss Lolita compatition.  It is not anything too bad and good on those girls who made it to the finals, however, it was kind of boring and a bit longer then it might 'ot to have been.  I was looking FWD to my tea!

Fashion and Music Shows:
Kokusyoku Sumire
I was the only one of my friends to do this so I was the ambassador to them so I took all the pictures of the Fashion Show >.<
The Good: I had a wonderful seat for this event.  Seating was pre-set so I was just lucky to get a spot right in front of the middle of the stage.
The band that played was Kokusyoku Sumire!  Two super kawaii girls who sing and play songs based off of fairy tales and traditional Japanese music.  It was a pretty interesting show, but it blew my mind when they sang "Still Alive" from the video game Portal!!! Everyone lost it because it was sooooo cool!
The Fashion show was pretty awesome.  There were about 4 brands (I believe) that showed in the show.  Adorable prints from the designers and I wanted all the things...  Super cute stuff from Angelic Pretty, but then again they are my favorite brand and I love their super sweat ascetic
The Bad: By the time these things finally rolled around everyone was so very hungry.  We had no idea that there would be two longer then sapposed breaks and no one knew what the tea was going to be like.

The Tea:
The Bad: Mugs of tea with a selection of tea bags with no refills of hot water.  Three tea deserts per person.  Yeah, that's all.  For being at the Farmount Hotel I was EXTREAMLY disappointed   I've been to one of their real teas and this was just ridiculous.
